NSW ComEng V-Set Locomotive for Trainz 2022

VSet locomotive and passenger car asset with animations for Trainz 2019 and above.

This is a port of my Unreal Engine project into Trainz, with additional LODs and animations. Given that this was originally a portfolio project, it has a very high level of detail. I have created aggressive LODs for the model while still preserving the original level of detail.

Stats and Features:

• Locomotive & passenger car assets included.

• Highly detailed, built from real reference material.
• High resolution PBR textures, target of 20.48px/cm texel density.
• Animated pantograph, bogeys, doors and windshield wipers.
• Customisable key binds for animation events.
• Night lighting.
• Automated Running Numbers.

There is No Interior modelling at this stage.

Locomotive:

• 6 LOD levels.
• LOD0: ~550k Tris, including attachments and submeshes.

Passenger Car:

• 6 LOD levels.
• LOD0: ~500k Tris, including attachments and submeshes.

Each LOD has half the polygons of its parent and attempts to consolidate or remove draw calls where possible.

Tested on Trainz 2022, but should be compatible with 2019 and above.
